watches Michael Bay ’s latest and loudest, “ Transformers: Age of Extinction ” ( our review ) crashes into theaters nationwide tomorrow which means now’s a good time to catch up with the first three entries in the Bay-helmed franchise. But, instead of potentially wasting your day away on the turgid trilogy, why not let the guys over at  Red Letter Media  watch the movies for you…. all at the same time.

rolex watches In the nearly twelve-minute long video, the three hosts of Red Letter Media sit through the entireties of “ Transformers ,” “ Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ” and “ Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon ” as they play across three screen and the results are pretty crazy. The main takeaway from the little experiment is how closely the structures of the film hew to each other. Story beats across the films — like when  Shia LeBeouf ’s character is first introduced — happen within seconds of each other onscreen as though the same script is used each time with only small details being altered, like the macguffin being sought.

watches sale It’s a pretty funny and revelatory video, one you should watch instead of going with the rest of America to see “Transformers 4” this weekend. Watch the video below.

omega watches Red Letter Media are great. They are, in my opinion, the best thing to happen to film criticism in a very long time, Mr. Plinkett aside. So much easier to trust the opinions of film critics who are also filmmakers too.
